1. To Scan an item select Scan. Place the item you are scanning on a stable surface. 

2. Turn your phone horizontally  (parallell with the barcode) with the word BlackBerry to your left and the power buttons to your right, as seen below. Hold it 1-5 inches from the barcode so that the barcode takes up most of the screen.

3. Press the camera icon (in the bottom middle of the screen) to focus and take the photo of the barcode.

You will see the message 'decoding' and then 'searching' as Edocrab finds your matching item. You will then see the following results:

• Select 'Web' to find the best price from different retailers on the web. Select the retailer/price that's best for you and you can select Buy Now to purchase the item from that retailer or Share to email it to yourself or a friend!
  
  
• Select 'Reviews' to see how this product was rated.
  
  
• Select 'Add to a List' add this product to one of your lists. 
  
  
• You can select the item name and description at the top of the page to see available Photos, Videos, or Music!

Edocrab works on any device running OS 4.5 or higher. With the newest scanning technology you can now select the Scan feature on the Curve 8900, Tour, Storm, and future devices as they come out. If you don't have one of these newer devices you can always select Search and enter the 12 to 13 digit UPC (barcode) or keyword on any BlackBerry device with OS 4.5 or higher.
